On Thursday, January 8th it was awe inspiring. There were moments in the room, aside from the hysterical, rib cracking laughter, that the room seemed to stand still. Dave Roever unquestionably knows how to captivate an audience. With the sanctuary at Hurlburt Air Force base filled with brave men and women from all backgrounds and achievements, Dave knew how to get the message across. It was this: whether you are facing an enemy, going about your marriage, or struggling with personal problems, the God of heaven reigns and is in control.
Men and women that day, in that room, were moved to total silence as Dave thanked them for protecting this country and for doing their jobs without hesitation or complaint. He thanked them for his grandchildren's sake. He thanked them for still giving him a country to be proud of and to love.
The love that went to and fro in that room was contagious. His love for his fellow troops and their love for him.
For those of you who may not know, Dave Roever is a wounded vietnam vet. He still carries the scars of a phosphorous grenade gone bad. He tirelessly travels around the globe bringing hope and encouragement in the face of adversity. His story is one that will never leave you.
