Straight out of high school Jackie Rozier went into the missions field. "We were always building for those we served. God gave me the gift to create, to work by my hands, and to give to others. He didn't give me the gift of being a Scientist or Doctor. This is what I am supposed to do", Jackie told us.
Need new flooring? Need a paint job performed? From A to Z Jackie is skilled in just about anything and everything that you would want in your home remodeling or repair project! The glory of God just shines through this man. He is humble, kind and soft-spoken ( hey, can't you see it in that smile alone? ) Oh, and we almost forgot to mention- he's been doing this for 25 years, including his building projects during his missionary years. He's had his own remodeling business for 15 years now.
So, if you want someone who will treat you honestly and fairly- give Jackie a call! 850-380-1582.

Feeling down? Feel like you need
some quenching? Or, maybe you just feel so overwhelmed by God's
presence and His love that you want to encompass all that He is (at
least while still here on earth in your earthly body). Look no further
than WPSM-, in other words, 91.1 on your radio dial. Through this
writer's travels, and having lived in other areas, none can compare
with the beauty and God anointed power of this Christian radio station.
From the individual people who make it all happen, to the fine
selection of music that comes streaming through- we are greatly blessed
to be in such close proximity to these people and the music.
Third
Day, Mercy Me, Chris Tomlin, Nicole C. Mullen, Kirk Franklin and the
list goes on and on. They know it and they play them all. If you are
new to Contemporary Christian, or if you've never tried it before, you
will find there is nothing like it. It absolutely transforms your life.
It changes you from the inside out. It makes you feel so close and
complete with God that nothing compares. You begin to realize what you
were created for, and for Whom.
Fasten your seat belt. Driving along
in your car, you literally feel as if you could eject out of it as you
"rock out". Maybe, you've had a rough day. Maybe you are going through
some difficult times and don't believe that you can hang on. Then, some
other song starts up that "releases" you from that pain. These people
truly care about you. They don't do this for the money or for fame.
They do it because they genuinely have a calling on their lives to
serve others.
From the often hilarious and heartwarming duo of
Drew and Jessica in the mornings, to newcomer Scotty (pictured here) in
the afternoons, these people love what they do. It shows. They are also
every bit as giving, warm and sincere in person, as they are on air.
While currently celebrating their 25th anniversary, here are some impressive facts about this station:
* Inspired by God, and due to his love of music, L.M. Thorne, the founder, put a board together to start WPSM- 25 years ago.
* They began with 387 watts
* They began as Pastors, sharing from the heart, and gradually grew to more mainstream music
* They started with approximately 500 listeners
NOW-
* They've never received grant money! It's ALL listener supported! (That says a LOT)
* The Lord has blessed them with 11,000 watts of power
* They reach from Panama City to Pensacola
* They are # 3 in a market of 35 local radio stations- (WOW!!!)
Jessica, the morning co-host, offers this insight as to why they do what they do; "when I'm out in public, at the post office for instance, and people say 'thank you' it makes it all worthwhile. I've even met people who have told me that they have contemplated suicide. They heard our station and it turned their life around."
Jessica goes on, "we've had offers to sell and we don't feel God wants us to. We love impacting people. I get calls from listeners who hear the 'mom moment', calling in to just say 'thank you for that'. Being a mother myself, I know about the challenges faced by women daily".
"Our goal is to bring the body of Christ together. It doesn't matter if you are Baptist, Methodist, Pentecostal, or whatever. It's all about God and His love", Jessica adds.
But,
don't just listen to them. Get involved. Volunteer. Tell your friends
and family to listen. Send them a much needed and deserved donation.
Details about how to do that is available on their website. By the way,
it is a very cool website! They now are streaming live, if you happen
to be out of town also! Check it out. Go to: www.wpsm.com

The smell drags you in. The warmth, humor and kindness of the owners and staff keeps you there. The food will make sure, indeed, that you will continue to return. Every customer that walks through the door gets a free sample, while they wait. The pictures that adorn almost every space on the walls and ceilings tell the stories of people who love the food and the hands that prepare it. From local t.v. personalities, to sports celebrities and comedians, not to mention regular locals, everyone agrees there's no place like Arlene's.
Invited by her personal hair dresser to set up at the hair salon to sell lunches, Arlene had no idea what God had in store for her. You see, Arlene is from Miami. She knows cooking. She knows recipes that most of us haven't had the pleasure to introduce to our taste buds. So began the journey from the beauty salon to her own restaurant. In just 9 weeks after being told she needed to open up her own place, God opened doors for Arlene. Literally. Driving around, looking for a place to start, she called the owner of a building. The building was boarded up and wasn't even listed for lease. The owner met with her anyway, and guess what? The owner happened to be a Christian also. Within 3 months, Arlene had her permits, licenses, inspections and set up. Her very own pastor and congregation members showed up to bless the business. That was October 3, 2007. Not even 2 years and they are already getting ready to expand, within 3-6 months, into the building next door. Owned by the same landlord! The new facility will allow for sit down eating, along with the current take-out.
They offer some Sunday southern style vegetables. The kind that take you back to your southern youth and childhood. They offer a dish called a "Denby Burger" that is hand patted and seasoned for a 1/2 lb in size. She has a special secret tea she calls a "Miami Flop", with special blends of pineapple. (Getting hungry already, aren't you?) The sauce covering the ribs is unlike any other. There's no question, once you eat the food why people return again and again. When you realize and learn what a kind and giving heart Arlene and her husband possess, you understand why the Lord has blessed them so. When people stop by who have no money, they feed them. They feed the homeless, the elderly. They hold special events to bless the community. Face painting, activities for kids, music and the such is something that they regularly hold once a month. They cater for military events, and other special events as well.
Arlene's motto is "prepared with blessed hands". Because the Lord blesses them through their hands. Arlene believes that none of us can do anything without "HIM". When asked why they believe they have been so successful in such a short time, Arlene and her husband respond quickly, "because we have given back and tried to be a blessing to others".
Make it a point to stop by 3420 Mobile Hwy in Pensacola when you are hungry. They also offer catering services. Their phone number is: 850-434-7525,

Don't throw away that amazing pair of shoes that you can't bear to part with. All you need to do is take them down to Heel 2 Toe shoe repair. As a matter of fact, they are so wonderful to be around that you almost want to damage a pair of your shoes, on purpose, just so that you can go by there and see them!
This is a talented family that has been engaged in this profession now for 3 generations! Yes, you read correctly- 3 generations! Seeing the equipment and everything that goes into shoe repair leaves you in awe of how they can turn a hopeless pair of shoes into a revived pair.

If there's a place you'd like to go to learn the art of self defense, while at the same time meeting and getting to know some nice people, we know the place!
You could call him someone of legendary status, but in his humility, he just prefers to be called, Calvin. What began as a very impressive military career, has transformed a God-fearing man, into someone who has mastered six marital arts techniques and started his own studio to equip others to do the same.
But, the journey was hard won. Young, impressionable Calvin, was also a young hippie, heavily involved in the Eastern Religions. Creationism was not even on his radar. In fact, anything to do with the bible, truth and Christianity was not something he welcomed. A rebel at heart, God turned this inner defiance into a great and wonderful thing.
He transitioned from hippie, to military man, to a Godly man. God pulled him in through his love of science and through a succession of things that only God could pull off, and proved to him that evolution was fake. It wasn't though, until after he'd gotten well into his military career that God woke him up. Serving in three branches- the Marines, the Army and the Air Force, all in special operations fields he developed an impressive set of skills. Long intrigued by the skills and polished image of the military, he was equally intrigued by martial arts. He has now mastered six different martial arts skills.
While currently running his martial arts studio, alongside his wife, Janet, Calvin is also near completion on his bachelor's degree in Theology. He will then go on to attain his Master's degree. While you can't accuse him of being lazy and unaccomplished, you can accuse him of loving his fellow man. His dedication to country and desire to protect it has poured out into his desire to teach others self protection.
He and his wife Janet, use their studio and business as a way of ministering and being a witness. It shows through and shines in the warmth that you receive when you step foot inside. The lobby area is littered with books, coloring books and other materials proclaiming the love of Christ.
Their studio is located 1/4 mile east of Walmart on hwy. 98. They regularly have some very great deals on classes. You can learn more about them at their website- www.PrecisionMartialArts.net

The current state of men's hearts are such that they are looking for anything to replace their Creator. This shows a billboard recently installed along a busy highway. The group paying for this billboard obviously is searching for an alien landing or something. When men come to the realization that God created man in a special and unique way, he will no longer search for wild solutions. When will they realize that Christ died for our sins and that the work on the cross was complete, not needing to be repeated again and again for "other" beings in this universe?
We were all created with a gaping hole in our souls that only one being can fill. That is our Creator whom, the bible states, "flung the stars into the sky with his hand". Man was created in the unique image of God. No scary, ugly being in this universe could ever compare to what God, as Jesus Christ offers us for eternal salvation.

It's another awesome, event packed Sunday night at the indoor skate park. For the 21 year old heading it up, it's another chance to reach a lost youth. He may be youthful, but he is mature beyond his years. He is world traveled. He has been to places such as: England, Germany, and Holland. He is currently in the process of lining up a trip to China. Mission? To expand a skateboarding ministry.
Jason Gallagher began his journey approx. 7 years ago in a skate park himself. "I was obsessed with skateboarding. I was at the skate park every chance I got. Problem was, I couldn't figure out why I felt so empty still. I had honed my skills and thought that I just needed to learn new tricks", Jason said.
But, that didn't do the "trick". Jesus did!
"I'd go to that skate ministry in Gulf Breeze and just blow off the message. Finally, it began to sink in. A seed was planted in me." Jason told us.
Just over a year ago, Sparrow became a reality. Launched under Globe International out of Pensacola, Florida, the name "Sparrow" was chosen from the passage of Mathew 10:29. We prefer that you read it, but we will give you a hint. It has to do with "God caring so much about even one sparrow". That's exactly what the 5 volunteers who head up Sparrow want those youth to grasp.
The evening is filled with daring maneuvers, a message and some pizza. Even if you aren't brave enough to master a 360 flip, it's very exciting to hang out and watch these kids. The message pierces the heart. Guest speakers are also invited to attend. You may attend these weekly events, free of charge, at Waterboyz in Pensacola. Located at 380 N. 9th avenue. Hours of the events are from 6:30 to 9:00 on Sundays.
Even though Jason has a busy, filled schedule which includes studying at Pensacola Junior College, the Sparrow ministry and traveling, he and his colleagues dreams and prayers are very clear. They pray that others will feel led to begin their own skateboarding ministries in other locations!
If the Lord touches your heart to begin a skateboarding ministry, or if you'd like to make a contribution in any way, feel free to contact Jason for help in that area. His number is: 850-485-8580.

It can't be a coincidence that Lance Triplett lost everything in a prior pool business- submerged. He was dunked. He nearly drown. He rose again, by the grace of God- to be reborn. Both in business and in spirit. After all, we do serve a mighty God.
Grab your popcorn. This is a movie. Or, at least it could be.
While working his way through college in a shipping company job, Lance sustained a back injury. So, began a long journey and spiral into the abyss of pain pill addiction and eventually, crack cocaine.
"After a rewarding career in the military, my pill addiction began to even impact that. I left that to begin working for an uncle in his pool business. After 5 years, I started my own. I was very successful and made a lot of money. It reached a point where the addiction consumed me. One night, while alone, God spoke to me and said, 'what if something happened to one of your parents? This is how you want to honor them?', said Lance.
Then, the unthinkable happened about a year later. The father he had loved, but not honored, was killed in a head on collision. He also lost a cousin under mysterious circumstances. Constantly scrambling for a way to get more pain pills, and with his business in shambles, Lance decided to enter a secular rehab.
"When I look back, the problem didn't begin with the pill addiction. It began as a youth not respecting or obeying my parents. Getting dependent on drugs was a symptom of my problems. I was selfish. "Me" or "I" came first. I also never thought that I was attractive enough. My self esteem was low. It was about my outside appearances and not my inside image", Lance said.
Even though inside he still didn't admit that he was the problem- after all, doctors had been prescribing to him- he was able to stay clean for a year after rehab. Then, because he didn't deal with his "spiritual" problem, once again, the enemy stepped in.
"The enemy told me that I had stopped once, I can take pills again, and stop again. I had worked my way back up to my usual 35 pills per day. Hanging around people who only fueled my addictions, I was with a friend one day. I was desperately searching for more pills. That's when the so-called-friend introduced me to crack cocaine. I was spiritually naiive and didn't realize it was the enemy luring me down a darker path. I took the first hit, got out of my truck and threw up. I knew it instantly had me. The next approximately 6 months, I spent at least 18k on crack. I dropped to 157 pounds. I began having seizures. I was told that if I didn't stop, that I would die. I didn't care anymore. I was walking death. I wanted to die." Lance told us.
Then, a merciful and gracious God began to take over.
Lance still chokes up at His love and intervention in Lance's life. "I had been running things "my way" instead of allowing Him to guide my life and deliver me from addiction", reports Lance.
My mother and sister drove me from Arkanas to Florida to participate in a program called "Teen Challenge". Running away after just three weeks, getting in even deeper with the law, he ended up in jail for 4 1/2 months. The arresting officer was a Christian. While in jail, he began studying his bible. Brought up in church, he never really read his bible. With the company of 21 other cell mates, Lance began a sort of bible study group.
At his hearing, Lance was represented by a gentleman from teen challenge. They wanted him back. Turns out, that gentleman had just had lunch with the sitting judge days before. Through a succession of circumstances that only God could have put together, Lance stayed in the Teen Challenge program for a year. He went on the finish bible school. He even stayed on for a period of time as a staff member with Teen Challenge.
After Teen Challenge, God even miraculously put it together for him to begin work again as an employee of a pool company. Several years of that, with inexplicable doors opening, Lance ended up, after years of taking it for granted, with a pool company of his own again!
Lance has been born again, and drug free now for 8 years! Lance tells this story not to bring light to himself, but to show what a powerful, forgiving and mighty God we serve. A God who has raised him from the dead and brought him back to life again.
"It is thriving beyond my wildest expectations. Even in a tough economy, my sales continue to increase. I pray over each home and person where I have a contract. I finally realized that I am not here to be served in this life, but to serve. I now support 5 missions programs with what God has blessed me with", Lance tells us.
If you would like to contact Lance for any of your swimming pool needs, you may reach him at: 850-529-4788.

Starting the year off early with a heart attack is something that nobody wants to do. Then, you begin to wonder if it's just a sign of things to come. That's exactly what happened to Rob Miodus in 08. Then, just when he felt at one of the lowest points in his life, God showed him who was still on the throne....
Soon after getting out of the Navy, and armed with a degree in Sports Medicine, Rob entered a field in which he wasn't especially finding fulfillment. He began to see that a few of his navy buddies had entered the insurance field. What initially attracted him to this field was the flexible schedule and the ability to raise the ceiling on his income to match his drive and ambition.
"What I love about this field is that even with economic uncertainty, I get to deliver a product that gives people a solid security. When they are hit with a traumatic experience, I get to be a sort of hero and bring peace to someone. They know that they don't have to be dependent on family, the government, or charity to see them through", Rob tells us.
Building 6 years of experience in this field, Rob began to get great enjoyment out of assisting in transferring wealth to the next generation. It's always about making the burden lighter. Sitting down with a family and showing them how to achieve security is really what this is all about. Rob had no idea his own sense of security would be tested and shaken, but he was about to find out...
A heart attack at just 42 years young really made him step back and take a look at his own mortality. The thought of leaving 4 young children behind shook him, and made him question if he was being the man God wanted him to be.
Along with the heart attack recovery came new challenges and obstacles. "Of course, there were medical bills, then other obligations that I had to live up to. There were moments of despair and desperation. I began to question what I was doing and what I had done to deserve all of this. Where was God? Why was I being so tested? Things began to look so bleak that I wanted to give up. The market was so volatile and the economy had taken a big hit as we all know", Rob said.
Then God showed him who is the boss.
"One of the largest accounts of my career that I thought was impossible had suddenly become a possibility. It had originally looked as if this one could not possibly be worked out, and then, things began to fall into place in a way that can only be described as a 'God thing'. I mean, things began to just happen! Things that were inexplicable began to unfold and fall perfectly into place. Just prior to the deal closing, when everyone involved was still holding their breath, with a very special friend, I watched the movie, 'Facing the Giants'. I had not seen this movie yet, and the message hit home. I surrendered it all to God and told Him that whether or not this worked, I would still praise Him", Rob said.
"A week before the deal closed, I felt that peace that surpasses all understanding come over me. I think that I was tested to show me that it isn't me who makes things happen. My faith and prayer life were strengthened. When asked why God blessed me in times of trouble, I just think, maybe it isn't only me that he's blessed. I think it's a ripple effect. My children, my church, my collegues, etc.", Rob tells us.
(Rob also, incidentally, is gifted in playing the guitar and plays for his church Praise and Worship band at Navarre First Assembly of God)
If you would like to find out how to better prepare for your future, you should contact Rob Miodus. We suggest that you do because you will find a very knowledgeable and caring person to guide you through the process!
As an Account Executive with The Hartford, Rob can be reached at: 850-259-8180.

On Thursday, January 8th it was awe inspiring. There were moments in the room, aside from the hysterical, rib cracking laughter, that the room seemed to stand still. Dave Roever unquestionably knows how to captivate an audience. With the sanctuary at Hurlburt Air Force base filled with brave men and women from all backgrounds and achievements, Dave knew how to get the message across. It was this: whether you are facing an enemy, going about your marriage, or struggling with personal problems, the God of heaven reigns and is in control.
Men and women that day, in that room, were moved to total silence as Dave thanked them for protecting this country and for doing their jobs without hesitation or complaint. He thanked them for his grandchildren's sake. He thanked them for still giving him a country to be proud of and to love.
The love that went to and fro in that room was contagious. His love for his fellow troops and their love for him.
For those of you who may not know, Dave Roever is a wounded vietnam vet. He still carries the scars of a phosphorous grenade gone bad. He tirelessly travels around the globe bringing hope and encouragement in the face of adversity. His story is one that will never leave you. If you'd like to know more about Dave Roever or possibly order some of his dvd's, cd's or books, or give to his several ministry projects, please visit his website at: www.Daveroever.net
